Tall, leguminous plant common along rivers and edges of wetlands. Showy, orange-red flowers hang in clusters and attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Host plant for the gray hairstreak, Zarucco duskywing and funereal duskywing butterflies. The plant as a whole provides cover and habitat for birds. The seed pods provide interest through the winter. Tolerant of salt spray and brackish water. Grown in 14″ DeepPots.
