About the Nursery
Chickadee Natives is a native plant nursery in New Orleans, LA that focuses on preserving the local genetics of our native plants. All of our plants are grown from seed collected in Southeast Louisiana.
Chickadee Natives is growing! We are in the process of expanding our operations so that we can finally meet the demands of our current customers and also fill gaps in the wholesale trade. We are working hard to soon be able to supply landscapers, garden centers and restoration practitioners, and eventually large municipal projects as well as providing local ecotype seed.
Until we have our expanded facilities, we offer weekly delivery within the New Orleans area and also attend the Abita Springs Farmers Market and Crescent City Farmers Market during the spring and fall, as well as garden shows and other events.

About Me
Hi there! My name is Charlsie, and I’m the real live human being behind Chickadee Natives. I’ve been a horticulturist for 13 years, and my passion for native plants began about 10 years ago. I began growing native plants back when I had a small landscaping business and got frustrated with the lack of consistent availability in the area. In addition to my love of all things nature (restoration, hiking, plants, birds!) I’m also passionate about photography, writing, music and travel.
