Attractive, evergreen large shrub or small tree. Leaves have a spicy, aromatic aroma when crushed. Fruits are eaten by yellow-rumped warblers through the winter. Does best when initially grown with constant moisture but can tolerate drought once established. Can be pruned into a small tree shape. Also makes an effective screen or hedge. Suitable for rain gardens. Most are dioecious, requiring both male and female plants for good berry production. These 8-month-old whips have not been sexed. Grown in 14″ Deepot.
