Spikes of bright red flowers are popular with hummingbirds. Attractive foliage adds interest even when not in bloom. Long seed pods split open to reveal bright red seeds. Seeds are toxic if ingested, so DON’T EAT THEM and keep them away from children and curious pets. Shrub is deciduous and may die back to the ground in winter. Good for hot, sunny, dry spots.
