About the Nursery
Chickadee Natives is a native plant nursery in New Orleans, LA focused on preserving the local genetics of our native plants. All of our plants are grown from seed collected ethically and sustainably in Southeast Louisiana, with a focus on populations that are in danger of being lost to development. We hope to expand into restoration-quality seed production in the coming years!

About Me
Hi there! My name is Charlsie, and I’m the real live human being behind Chickadee Natives. I’ve been a horticulturist for 15 years, and my passion for native plants began about 11 years ago. I began growing native plants back when I had a small landscaping business and got frustrated with the lack of consistent availability in the area. In addition to my love of all things nature (restoration, hiking, plants, birds!) I’m also passionate about photography, writing, music and travel.
