Cephalanthus occidentalis (Buttonbush)

Deciduous shrub with white flowers that resemble pincushions or fireworks. Can be pruned into a small tree form. Thrives in rain gardens and other wet locales. Fragrant blooms attract butterflies and bees. Ducks, other water birds and shorebirds eat the seeds.
