Bright yellow flowers bloom from August to November. The flowers provide nectar and pollen for butterflies, bees, wasps and beetles and are an important nectar source for fall-migrating monarchs. The seeds are eaten by goldfinches and other birds. Swamp sunflower is a host plant for the silvery checkerspot, gorgone checkerspot, and painted lady butterflies. Plants can be cut back in early summer to encourage branching. Give it room to spread. Also known as narrowleaf sunflower. 1 gallon pot.
