Large cream-colored flowers with red centers bloom from late spring through fall and attract butterflies and bees, including the Rose-Mallow Bee which is a hibiscus specialist. Prefers drier sites than our other native Hibiscus. Larval host for 4 butterflies (Gray Hairstreak, Painted Lady Butterfly, Common Checkered Skipper and Tropical Checkered Skipper) as well as 4 moths (Pearly Wood Nymph, Yellow Scallop Moth, IO Moth and Delightful Bird-Dropping Moth).
