Beautiful, upright warm-season grass with distinctive blue-green foliage. Foliage turns varying shades of copper to red in the fall, and the fluffy white seed heads provide late-season interest. Larval host for the dusted skipper, cobweb skipper, swarthy skipper and crossline skipper. Seeds are eaten by a variety of birds. Quail use bunchgrasses as cover and as nesting sites.
