Fast-growing evergreen shrub ranging in height from 3’ to 10’. The flowers provide nectar for bees, butterflies, moths and other insects, and the seeds are eaten by birds. These dense shrubs also provide nesting habitat and cover for birds. Highly adaptable and tolerant of saltwater spray. Useful as a hedge or in rain gardens. The female plants are very showy in the fall when going to seed. Single-trunk specimens can be pruned to a tree form.
